Volunteering at Marfleet Community Centre

Marfleet Community Centre has, since April 2017, been managed by Coast and Vale Community Action, a charity established to support community development and collective action. We aim to provide a range of services and activities for different community members from children, young people, families, adults and older people. We aim to have a series of events and activities running throughout the year.

We are looking for people who can help to plan fun and exciting activities to engage all different sections of our community, which in turn, will help to develop social skills, confidence, sense of community and feelings of self-worth. This is a fun and challenging role.

What does the Role involve?

The purpose of the group is to provide a safe and supportive environment where all residents can pursue positive social activities from gaming, sports, learning, arts and crafts and so on. We are looking for residents who would be interested in volunteering in General Events & Activity Support and Organising. The role would involve planning and leading sessions, providing support and encouragement to local people, accessing facilities and resources needed by Club members and so on.

How to apply

Contact Kerry Hought, Centre Co-ordinator, for a copy of this role description and our simple application form.

After you have completed the application form (we can help you with this) you will be invited to have an informal discussion with Kerry to check that the role is for you.

Once we are both happy we will undertake any pre-start checks that are required, subject to the specific role (i.e. DBS disclosures, references)

Once these are received, or if none are necessary, you will be registered on our system as a CaVCA Volunteer, and Sue will agree with you the days and times that you will volunteer.
