On Thursday 10th May, Totally Socially transformed the Rainbow Lane Centre at Peasey Hill with tablecloths, cake-stands and flowers turning it into a cosy country-style café and invited the local residents to come along to enjoy afternoon tea. Aimed at the over 60s, those attending were treated to finger sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, plus a delicious selection of home-made cakes, all washed down with lashing of hot tea and coffee.

Jo Laking, Totally Socially Locality Worker for Ryedale says

We had a lovely afternoon reminiscing with residents about what it used to be like to live in Peasey Hill and how things have changed over the years along with exploring what it is like living on the estate today.

Jo went on to say

People were very enthusiastic to tell us what they thought was needed at the Rainbow Lane Centre to get people to start using it again, including ideas for activities which bring together all ages in the community, such as games clubs and craft sessions. Totally Socially is listening to the people of Peasey Hill and will continue to work with them to help enable them to turn their ideas into reality.
