Social entrepreneurs and people with a commitment to using business to do good gathered at The Filling Station, the café at The Street, on 3 July in the first step towards establishing a Scarborough Social Enterprise Network.

We heard from Beckie, about what she is learning at the School for Social Entrepreneurs and from Sheri-Leigh about the work of NETpostivefutures.  We also had some lively discussions about the sort of support we need to develop locally to help people start up new social enterprises and to help existing social enterprises grow.

We want to start social enterprise networks throughout the Yorkshire Coast Social Enterprise Zone and to build the one in Scarborough.  This first gathering was a small and important step.
