VACANCY – Social Enterprise Zone Ambassador (2 posts)

Hours: 18.5 per week (the post may be available as one full time (37hpw) post should a suitable candidate come forward)

Location: 1 post in Scarborough; 1 post in Bridlington

Coast and Vale Community Action is a social enterprise operating in the Borough of Scarborough, District of Ryedale, the Yorkshire coast and Hull. We exist to enable communities to thrive because people and places matter.

  • Building the capacity of local residents and communities to fill gaps in community identified need

About the Role:
We are delighted to have secured funding from, the Advantage Coast Community Led Local Development Programme, funded by the European Union, to deliver an exciting, innovative three-year project to support and develop social enterprise within the Yorkshire Coast Social Enterprise Zone. Our Social Enterprise Zone status, awarded by Social Enterprise UK, demonstrates a recognition of the wealth of innovative community led enterprise activity on the Yorkshire Coast and the opportunities this presents to build a strong local economy. This is a grassroots-up approach, driven by members of the Zone themselves and the Ambassadors will be key to the Zone’s success.

About you:
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and proactive individuals who will have:

  • Good local knowledge, and broad awareness of the social sector
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • A keen understanding of and experience delivering enterprise start up and growth support
  • A flexible, creative and innovative approach to working with enterprises, organisations and individuals
  • Experience of planning and running community events
  • Commitment to CaVCA’s mission and the ability to motivate self and others
