The atmosphere in the Bristol suite is positively buzzing as the delegates take to their seats, everyone has either been out on site visits or have been attending workshops (which I heard great things about) within the convention itself.

First up, Robin Tuddenham of Calderdale Council.

Following a brief intro from Ed Wallis of Locality, Robin takes to the stage and the room falls silent.

Calderdale Council are leading the way in developing their local community by forming strong partnerships with community organisations, supporting community ownership and buying locally.

The vision of the council is "Enterprising and Talented, Kind and Resilient, Distinctive"

Robin is very articulate as he describes how they "help people live a larger life" and explains the future of the council with their 6 year plan.

"It's amazing what you can create when you don't care who takes the credit"

"It's possible to avoid doing something, but it is impossible to avoid being somewhere"

It's refreshing to hear from a council that truly care and are passionate about people they represent.
