Our final speaker of the morning was Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP, the UK's Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government.

James began his speech expressing his delight to be present and wished "to thank you for everything you are doing."

“You, and your organisations, represent some of the best & most inspiring work happening in our communities. You know why robust communities matter so much. In good times and bad, community binds us together.”

Looking around the room there are several nods of agreement.

It is clear, however, that James has a very busy schedule. As soon as he finishes he is ushered from the room and onto his next appointment. I find myself wondering what questions could have been answered had he stayed for the Q&A session later in the afternoon.
